Penny runs the shop, and it opens by midday everyday. Closing time is normally somewhere between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. depending upon social commitments.
Penny is happy to arrange to open the shop for interstate or international visitors by appointment.

David's premises is the warehouse, and processing side of the business, although he does open the door to the public on a daily basis, from midday until 5 p.m.every day except Wednesday, and like Penny is happy to arrange to open up early by appointment.

Penny's shop is accessible from the city by catching the Sandringham train, and Exiting at the Windsor Railway Station which is the fourth stop from the city, and climbing the ramp, then carefully crossing Chapel Street and walking through her front door.
The 87 tram also goes past her shop, and there are numerous trams that run down Dandenong Road which is about 100 m to the south of her shop.
There is ample parking available behind the shop in the council car park.

The Windsor shop's strong points are: Science Fiction and Fantasy Australiana Literature (in paperback) True Crime, and crime fiction Modern War History, Children's Books & Natural History Penny has about 75 bookcases FULL of books

He threw away his double sided “Yes we are closed/ Sorry we are open” sign when the television programme called Black Books started running. (David is a difficult child) (Penny has taught him some manners)

David's shop is situated between Kooyong and Hawthorn Roads, on the Route 67 tram. Parking is generally good, especially on the weekends.

The Caulfield shop stocks most things: including the odds and ends that don't fit into Windsor. 14 bookcases of science fiction and fantasy; 9 bookcases of Australian history and world history, 12 of paperback literature (penguins etc), 6 crime fiction, 6 general fiction, 6 or 7 of philosophical topics, 3 poetry, 3 plays, 6 lof cooking, health, and about 6 or 7 bookcases of biographies. As well as 12 bookcases that are mainly first edition fiction, a couple bookcases of psychology, some literary criticism, science natural history and even some horror.
